Memorial: Celebrating the Life of Ivan Karp

A memorial event honoring the life and work of Ivan Karp was held at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African Art in Washington, DC on November 18, 2011, during the annual meetings of the African Studies Association. Friends and colleagues at the event remembered and celebrated Ivan Karp’s life. The event was moderated by Christine Mullen Kreamer, deputy director and chief curator of the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African Art.
