Ivan Karp and Corinne Kratz Fund

Ivan Karp and Corinne Kratz in Kauai, February 24, 2000.

The Ivan Karp and Corinne Kratz Fund promotes collaboration among scholars and practitioners working in universities, museums, and other cultural institutions in South Africa. It supports lively exchange through annual workshops and fosters the next generation of scholars and practitioners through student research support. These activities are organized through the African Critical Inquiry Program, a partnership between the Laney Graduate School at Emory University and the Centre for Humanities Research at the University of the Western Cape.

The Ivan Karp and Corinne Kratz Fund was created in September 2011 to honor Ivan’s lifetime commitment to anthropology, museums, African studies, social theory, and public scholarship. The Fund helps continue the collaborative work that Ivan and Cory began with South African colleagues in 1999.

Contributions to the Fund help sustain this collaborative work. All donations are tax-deductible. (Please be sure the online form directs your gift to the Ivan Karp and Corinne Kratz Fund (listed in the dropdown menu under “Other”) at the Laney Graduate School.)
