Research Conference
Thursday, Nov. 3
Goizueta Business School
Faculty hosts: Sheila TschinkelTao Zha, and Elena Pesavento

Can macroeconomic research lead us out of the economic doldrums? Policymakers, academics, and business leaders gathered at Emory University on Nov. 3 to discuss fiscal policy and the recent financial crisis, oil prices and macroeconomics, practical considerations in developing policies, and more.

The event featured a keynote address by Princeton University Professor of Economics and Public Affairs Alan Blinder, who is widely recognized for his research on free trade and fiscal and financial policy. Blinder has authored or co-authored 17 books, including the textbook "Economics: Principles and Policy," and is a regular columnist for The Wall Street Journal. He served on former President Bill Clinton's Council of Economic Advisers and was vice chair of the board of governors of the Federal Reserve System from 1994 to 1996. Blinder holds a doctorate in economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
